The village of Câlnic is in Alba County, in the Transylvania region of Romania. The prominent building in the village was the Citadel, built in 1270 by a nobleman Graf (Count) Chyl de Kelling, whose family later sold it to the local ethnic German Transylvanian Saxon community. This was at a time when the area belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary.

The Câlnic Castle differs from most other constructions of this type in that it is not situated on a hilltop but rather in a depression, much lower than the surrounding hills. It was bought in 1430 by local peasants and fortified. It consists of a large court surrounded by walls and some buildings adjacent to the walls. Once the Saxon community took ownership, they extended it by building a second fortification wall and a tower in the southern part, using the structure for refuge during Ottoman raids.

THE TEAM

Manoj has over 25 years of experience in organisation building in the areas of marketing communications, e-commerce and ITES services. He managed start-up’s scaling them across geographies and incubating new verticals as the Indian representative for US based venture capital funds. Building lean, efficient and result driven organisations with a management pipeline supported by management systems embedded in software for growth and sustenance is his speciality. Manoj holds a post graduate diploma in mass communications.

Naomi has worked on user-centric enterprise-wide software design, deployment and testing for many years. Being a graduate in psychology with a diploma in computer graphics, she has been able to anticipate user needs critical for change management. She uses it to drive user experience and interactive elements in learning tools and investor relations Naomi leads client engagement working with the development and implementation teams. Naomi always had a flair for art combining it with sophisticated computer graphics software for design. Naomi has been commissioned by publishing houses for story book development including illustrative art.

Jossy holds a post graduate in computer applications. He has designed, developed, deployed and tested software modules and enterprise wide systems with over 1000 users across geographies. He has expertise in open source software development with server management and security protocols for data protection and ease of use. Keeping the user needs in mind, Jossy has designed and developed software for iOS, Android and web based applications using Open source and .NET framework. He leads the software development team liaising with clients and implementation teams at every juncture.

Sam holds a doctorate in linguistics and his thesis was on situation dependent learning abilities in communities based on their exposure to external factors. Sam has worked with numerous communities in South Asia documenting their culture, developing orthography, phonology and learning systems. Sam understands the change factors that drive transformation in communities and workgroups. His expertise is in training, documentation and learning management initiatives.

Christopher has been working in the field of Computational Linguistics, Natural Language Processing and specifically in the area of Development of Machine Translation systems and Artificial Intelligence.Worked with many State Government and Central Government project in association with many Higher Education Institutes in India. His specialization includes, development of Language Technology tools for digitally less resources languages.
